Mary Lou Jepsen pushes the edges of what's possible in optics and physics, to make new types of devices, leading teams and working with huge factories. Before founding Openwater, Dr. Jepsen was an engineering executive at Facebook, Oculus, Google and Intel. She has founded four startups, including One Laptop per Child where she was CTO, chief architect and delivered to mass production the $100 laptop. Dr. Jepsen studied Studio Art & Electrical Engineering at Brown University. She received her Master of Science in Holography from the MIT Media Lab, and then returned to Brown to receive a PhD in Optical Sciences.
